Tracee and Daniel were looking for a more livable and private space in their backyard. Their home backs up to open canals, which created a strong wind tunnel and attracted large numbers of mosquitoes. With no back fences and houses built closely together, there was little privacy. They had previously installed a wooden pergola over their hot tub, but over time the wood began to deteriorate. The fabric shades they added were no match for the wind and eventually tore apart.

To address these challenges, we installed a 13x8 wall-mounted aluminum pergola. It was anchored securely to their home and designed to hold up in high-wind conditions. We partnered with EZ Fold Screens LLC to enclose the sides with screen doors, creating a bug-free environment that still allows for airflow. A motorized roller shade was added to the front, giving them control over sunlight and privacy. The slightly opaque shade material makes it harder for others to see inside, helping them feel more comfortable in their space. Their new setup is built to last and gives them a peaceful and functional outdoor area.
