Located in the sun-drenched landscape of Los Angeles, CA, the Thanh Le Church project represents one of Sola’s most ambitious commercial installations to date. By installing a massive 13ft x 100ft solar-powered large aluminium pergola, we successfully converted a neglected, heat-trapping corridor into a vibrant, multi-functional outdoor community hall. This project demonstrates that high-performance engineering and sustainable design can go hand-in-hand with rapid, efficient installation.

The 100-foot open walkway between church buildings is fully exposed to intense LA sun. With no large pergola, it becomes extremely hot and uncomfortable for pedestrians, leaving no room for people to stop or gather.
The narrow corridor is dark and uninviting at night and on cloudy days with no proper lighting. It hurts the church’s appearance and creates safety risks for seniors and children, causing many to avoid the path entirely.
The church frequently hosts community meals and gatherings, but limited, poorly ventilated indoor space and no shaded, weather-protected outdoor area hold back its community outreach and event capabilities.
Sola’s solar system powers the pergola’s LED lights and industrial fans without extra wiring. The corridor is now bright at night and breezy by day, eliminating darkness and stuffiness.
